USDT INTRODUCITON
USDT INTRODUCTION
Tether (USDT), formerly known as RealCoin, was established in 2014 and is one of the oldest stablecoins. It uses Bitcoin’s Omni protocol for issuance and trading, supported by US dollar reserves, and one USTD corresponds to one dollar. Tether generates revenue by charging a small fee for the issuance of new tokens.
Tether dominates the current stablecoin market, with a market value that has grown from about $ 7 million in 2017 to $ 4 billion today. It is the most widely used stablecoin and is used by many industry-leading exchanges, such as Huobi, OKEX, ExRank, ShapeShift, Bittrex, Bitfinex, Binance, and Poloniex.
